I met some of the Cardboard Citizens team whilst documenting a project that they were a part of during the summer of 2018. Since then, I’ve worked with them more closely on a variety of their own projects, documenting their work with those that society deems invisible. They give voices to the voiceless, whilst educating those who participate to their rights and opportunities in life.

What Cardboard Citizens aims to do is incredible to watch, fostering a friendly and safe environment in which people can open up and perform for the first time in front of others. I took part in one or two sessions too to get acquainted with the other participants, and it definitely has an immediate effect.
